What is the best kit to turn my 9speed hub into a single speed?  I am guessing one with lots of spacers to keep the chain line straight?  I dont need a tentioner, as i have sliding rear dropouts.  I have a bike i want to try with one gear.

thanks guys

The surly kit with a surly cog seems pretty nice to me.

I guess a question to you guys that run a SS converted rear wheel would be do you recommend a kit with a lot of small spacers, or some big and some small.

I think they both would work.  A reason to go with the "some big, some small" approach like the Surly is that you can fine tune it to the millimeter.

One of the pro's to the surly is that the they provide you numerous combinations in the instruction manual depending on the distance between your chain ring and the middle of your seat stay.  They will tell you exactly what combination to run inboard or outboard.  If you can measure that distance, you can't mess it up.

I like the small ones for adjustably.  Make sure to get a cog that has a pretty wide base so it doesn't eat into your free hub body.  I like surly ones myself.

Another option is the Gear Clamp.

If I had to do it again though, I'd go Endless. Made in NC and is a great product.

I agree with Endless.  I bought one years ago before they had pretty colors.  The # of spacers and the sizes allow for the perfect fit.
