So long folks!...

Hey Trailblazers,

I dont know everyone in the TrailBlazers but I do know alot of you'n and figured this was the best way to say so long.

Many of you know that I've semi-relocated to Asheville and the last piece of me being a full time Ashevillian was a job. Well that has finally changed.

I have accepted a position with Cane Creek Cycling Components and will be moving up there in a week and a half.

So please everyone go out and buy a dozen or so Double Barrel Airs so I can keep my job haha...

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone involved with this club. Charlotte is truly blessed to have a mountain bike club that is as active and hard working as this one.  In the short time I have been involved I have seen immense changes and improvements to the area mountain biking community. It has been an honor and a pleasure to help build trail, attend social rides, and just to hang out with all you folks. I will truly miss this in Asheville.

For those of you reading this who are casual forum posters, who hang on the outskirts of the volunteer base, or who read this forum and ride the trails without being involved with the club... I urge you to get involved. The small handful of people who make this all happen are really great people and it is mind boggling the amount of things that get done with so few people doing the work.... Please give back to the club, the cycling community, and most importantly the trails.

Dont take all this for granted...

Now that the sentimental junk is over.... I will be back often since my folks live in Union County. I also want to come down and ride all the new trail that will surely be built in the future.

I expect everyone to come to Asheville and go riding with me in Pisgah, Dupont, Bent Creek, Heartbreak/kitsuma, and all the other trails up there, and to come and drink absurd amounts of good mountain beers with me. Hell, I might even buy ya a couple! Wink

Thanks again everyone and we'll see ya'll soon...

Bryan,
Congrats on the job with Cane Creek. I'm sure I'll see around! Before you go, will you go out to Beatty and move that wheelbarrow back over to Chigger Hollow?  (just kidding).

You have been major contributor to the cycling community.  Thanks for all your efforts. You will be missed.  Cry Cry Cry

Do what you like. Stop hating people for their riding habits and get back to hating them for their skin color, religion, politics, and sexual orientation.

Bryan, as stated above, you have been a huge contributor to our trails systems, and we are very appreciative. I have enjoyed the few rides we have done together, or at least seeing you when you stopped to wait on us slower folks.  And it is great to see that I am not the only one that drinks PBR craft beer after rides. Good luck with the new job; it sounds like it will be a blast.

--kit

P.S. You will be closer to more folks that enjoy and play the bluegrass music we love so much. Pick on, 5-string!

I weep... Cry Cry Cry

Even though I know its not really good bye, I can't emphasize enough how much Banjo will be missed.

I may be the trail coordinator for Beatty, but banjo was definitely the social coordinator. In addition to being a hell of a guy, and an awesome rider, he is equally adept showing beginners the ropes or buzzing the rear wheel of some of the cities fastest riders.

...and did I mention he was good with a shovel?!?  Bryan has moved mountains of dirt out at Beatty and could always be counted on to be among the last to leave on an epic workday.

Even when I can't keep up with him (often) Banjo is still one of my favorite people to share a ride with.  His departure will leave a huge hole in my trail crew, so if anyone wants to step up, has the time to give, and is willing to work hard, I am happy to teach. Shoot me a pm!

So in closing God bless banjo music, cold pbr tallboys, spent legs, sore lungs, and pamento and cheese. Best of luck buddy. We intend to see you often but will miss you being here!!!

Congrats on the new job Bryan. Like the others said you will be missed as a riding partner and also for all the work you have done at Beatty. I wish I could have ridden with you more. (you would make me so much better!  Smiley)

Good luck over in Ashville. I may hit you up if/when I get over there for a ride.

Also, I like Brad's post, those 3 images could not be better suited.

I really appreciate the kind words ya'll.

I'll be back from time to time and I really look forward to the future improvements the club is making and the direction its going in.

Anytime anyone wants to come up to AVL and ride let me know. I'd be more than happy to show anyone around if they have never been riding up there.

Pabst and Pimento cheese sandwiches are on me...

See ya'll soon.

Cool
