I have a full suspension bike and recently I sent my front fork and rear shock out for complete rebuilds. They both are working AMAZING but know that I need to keep up better regular maintence ie changing oil.

How often does everyone have this done, who does it locally, and how much?

Even better does anyone want to show me how to do it myself?

Thanks!

I do my oil and seals about every 6 months. Look up on youtube and there are some good videos to follow. In general just changing oil is super easy, I don't bother with Fox or RockShox oil and just get some high quality oil from the MX parts store.

If you need to get into a damper or something like that I would leave it to the pro's.

6 months or more often is the unfortunate truth if you ride with regularity. 4 months is probably closer to the number if you are a proactive type.  the good news is you can do it yourself.  It just takes some learning, but is a relatively simple procedure.

Yeah the video I saw yesterday said every 30 hours thought that was a bit extreme.

Well it depends on how much you ride, which is why they say '30 hours of riding'. If you ride a lot, yes. If you spend all your time on biking forums rather than riding, then it might be fine.

Hahaha.  You'll probably be fine.  34 hours of riding isn't really an elite number of hours.

You should definitely sell that fork.  It's a danger to you and anyone else on the trail with you.  Don't want to scare you into selling it fast, but if it were to cause you to wreck into someone else, you would probably be liable for their injuries.  I'll give you $25 and the rest of my warm PBR.

34 hours in 4 years isn't a lot of riding.  I'll up the bid for the fork to 35.00.
