Fisher Race is a go

Fisher only received .20inches of rain yesterday believe it or not. The trail was on the dry side so it should be great tonight. It may be the only place to ride your MTB bike today so come on out and put on your race face.

The trail was in great shape last night.

Interestingly, while doing my pre-race recon lap I noticed some trail work had been done, such as smoothing the transition onto the short bridge near the end of the 1st optional blue trail just before rejoining the main loop.  I was surprised to see an option to go around the narrow, rooty pass between the 2 trees just before that.  By race time, that "option" no longer existed...  Guess Mark was there.

Hey Bruce, not sure this was the case last night but many times at the trails, Doug and I both will try to put natural debris where walkers or even mountain bikers have created trails that deviate from the trail built by the trail crews.  We do this every time we race at N Meck and Renaissance. Typically Springs, USNWC and Fisher doesn't have that many places on the trail where walkers create trails or deviate from the built trial.  We use to do it a lot at Beatty but we obviously don't race there anymore.

I added dirt to that bridge transitions about 2 months ago and cleaned up some of the drainage in the area.
I saw the debris pulled away to make an easier line and covered it back up.  Still had some racers decide to make a line just below it.  I have my hunches that its one of the expert racers as that happens in that area every single race. Let it be known, if I catch someone doing it I will ask they be disqualified from the race.  Smiley

Glad everyone had fun!
