Messed up deal there. Glad he got away.

I am surprised the poor guy was able to get knocked off his bike and get sort of dazed/unconscious for a bit and then get up and fight off 3 dudes.  Shocked

Well the dude was 6'3 and 200 lbs.  That sound like he was fit, and I'll bet he went ape s**t when he realized they were going all Ned Beatty on him!  Plus, most sex crazed hillbilly types are undernourished from all of the squirrel and possum they eat.  Not enough roughage. And who knows where they get their dairy/protein.  Looks like there might be a market for a small 9mm kit to integrate into a new Specialized frame.  Seriously though, that is some whacked stuff...

Scary stuff. Can you imagine that guys adrenaline level to fight off 3 people who were prepared for a confrontation? Bet he hasn't calmed down yet. Good for him getting away.

That is crazy! Glad he's ok, I've camped out at FATS a bunch of times too, sounds like the hillbillies are making it a little too sketchy!

Luckily, this is NOT the actual FATS trails; it is a separate trail called (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links).  It is further north than FATS, but still similar area.  Glad he is ok.  I may be riding FATS tomorrow.  Undecided

I dont know all the details but some guy on a 4 wheeler went up to some people ridding bikes and told them they could not ride, that he owned the land. Like I said I dont know all the details but from what I understand the police took care of it.

thanks (re: poston).  not quite 'Deliverance'-ish as the FATS / Modoc news; but nevertheless still a little disturbing.
I've ridden poston ~ dozen times.  maybe 3 or 4 times I've had a pretty big dog "chase" after me as i'm heading down the red loop.  i'm a dog owner myself, but even though i haven't caught a good glimpse of the dog, it's bark & pace appear like it could be a german shepard - NOT what a non-owner wants to encounter alone in the woods!!!!   was wondering if others have had that experience.  haven't had that problem last couple times (probably been Spring time since last "chase") ... definitely gets the adrenaline pumping.

There have been similar issues at Shermin and Francis Beatty.

Time to start wearing neck protection?  There's a pun in there somewhere.

I've never seen him on the tail but I've heard a lot of barking.
Poston is near my house but I never ride it alone.

I too have had the dog interact with me.  He never gets close enough to be a true bother.  He won't cross the stream.  If I was running however he may be an issue.

Hmmmm! More info not reported in the original story. This may well be bogus. Thanks for the post.
