Some questioning of the validity of the attack at FATS

I love a good twist. I bet the dude was up to something and had to make up the story for cover. Now its gone too far and he's having to lie to cover up lies. I'm interested to see how this plays out, if it ever does.

I thought that story was stinky when I first read it.

I am happy to say that I road FATS yesterday and survived.  I should get a T-shirts that says "I road FATS and was not ______!" (you fill in the blank)  In all seriousness, if the assault did happen, I'm glad he is OK; if it did not, shame on him/them for making up a story to scare other people.  At 3:00 in the afternoon, and there only being one other car (without a rack), I was definitely keeping my eyes and ears open. Once I started passing other riders, I started easing up and only thinking about my legs hurting.  Lots of cars in the lot when I finished at 5:00.

Kit, the leg issue is from that SS contraption.
Seriously though thanks for the report. I hope FATS doesn't get a bad rap because of this. I hope the story is bogus. However it never hurts to have situational awareness. Although there is not much defense with a rope or wire at neck height. This sounds like some stuff that was going on out west a few years ago with trail conflict.

If I had my Glock on me and three dudes tried to rape me, the headline would read "Bodies of Three Hunters Found Off Local MTB Trail."

It seems kind of suspect that this guy had a .40 hidden in his "biking shorts?" and didn't bust it out and start clappin' at dem fools right away.

Just sayin.

Maybe I need to put a pistol in my Camel Bak, but it's a pretty sad state of affairs when it comes to that.

I rode FATS on July 1st and had no issues at all.

I meet a walker and 2 locals on bikes.

Fun trails.
