Friends and I are doing something similar Saturday.  Don't underestimate drive time.  We are only planning 4 and it will take us from 8 until 5 or 6.

We're going to have to find you a medal/merit badge if you knock this whole thing out! I may come in for some of the trails down south if nothing comes up, good luck! That is a lot of driving in one day...

Yes that’s actually my biggest concern. I can do the mileage. But the logistics of getting to all the trails and fitting everything in is a challenge. Especially since most trails don't allow night riding.

Maybe Kellie can make me a belt like she made for Team Dicky at the Year End Party.  Wink

Um no. You can have the extra credit. I'm going for comfort all the way.  Cool

Emily,

I just used Google maps to calculate 2 hrs. 37 minutes drive time.  102 miles.  Clearly you need to start at Signal Hill otherwise you add 21 minutes.

Can't wait to see you do this!!!!

Some guy came over to my house last night and suggested I do this ride with y'all.  I was considering a Saturday death march at Pisgah, but this sounds...........kinda fun.

Count me 50% in.  I'll make a decision pretty quick.

If it doesn't add too many driving miles, I'd do Sherman before Beatty. Sherman is not night ride friendly, but Beatty can be done easily. Park and enter from the neighborhood or the nearby church so car doesn't get locked in.

You might also want to start early with lights at Signal Hill to give yourself the best possibility to finish.

Extravagant support: maybe have a masseuse meet you at one trail 60-70% along the way for a good rub down?

Go Girl!

So whats the plan? North to South, or South to North? I have a friend in town from G'Ville that wants to ride BYT with us.

Right now I am waiting on the weather. It's not looking too good for Saturday so there is a very strong possibility this will get moved to next Saturday the 20th.

I am eying a route that goes something like this...

Francis Beatty (I can ride there at dawn or maybe even a bit before the sun comes up)
Then head into town and hit Renni, SWDP, Park RD/BYT complex
Then head to Sherman
Then head north for LNSP, Signal Hill, Fisher Farm, NM. I realize it would make more sense to ride Signal Hill before LN but I have to clear LN before the sun sets so I want to make sure and get it in while there is still enough daylight.

My options for night riding are better up North so that's why I am starting South instead. Sherman is a tricky one. It's sort of out there and not really in line with any of the other trails so it's a challenge to get it on the route no matter how I look at it.

This is officially on hold and will hopefully happen on Sept 20th. Rain is coming in overnight and there are logistics involved on my end with my pets and trying to coordinate with other people so I can't wait till the last minute to make the call. If it rains anywhere in the area it will derail the whole thing so I can't chance it. Lets all hope for better weather next week. Smiley

You guys are funny. You make me sound way cooler than I actually am.  Cheesy

Several people have asked about total mileage. I'm really not sure since I am not clear on the mileage of certain trails but this is my best estimate:

Francis Beatty 6.5
Renaissance 6
SWDP 2.5
Park RD/BYT/Marion Diehl 15-20?
Sherman 12
LNSP 31
Signal Hill 4?
Fisher Farm 5?
North Meck 3.5

So total about 86-91 give or take?

Looks like there is trail work scheduled at Beaty on Saturday between 8am and 2pm. Something to take into consideration for the planning.

As an aside, are trails generally closed for / during trail work?
