That any trail will be open at any point today? Lots of new toys on the bike this week that I have been dying to put to the test

Between 0 - 0.0001%.  Or, drive down to poston and slop around in the muck with your new gear.

With all the rain we've had this week in Gaston County and the way Poston holds water, I think I would just stay home.

I agree I am going to avoid Poston. Plus I was just hoping for a miracle that something would miraculously dry out I don't want to do any damage to a trail. On the other hand...Kerr Scott as in WC, OVT and dark Mountain is that what you're referring to? If it is open and in good shape ill be there in an instant.

As far as Poston goes... Lake loop would be a mess but Spencer mountain would be fine. Big leaf would be so-so. I plan on going tomorrow. Ill just park at the soccer fields and ride big leaf > soccer > spencer repeat. Its pretty short, but its better than jogging.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea. I may go check it out. If I do I will post something to let you know how it is.

If anything close to local is rideable today it would be Uwharrie. Everything else is sloppy. More rain tomorrow. Weather chic was saying an inch maybe two on the way.

I was working at LNSP today and the trails weren't too bad. They were closed and there was a guy riding the trails. I was working on Laurel, I went off trail to get a large rock and when I got back to the spot I was repairing, I saw his tracks. I hiked through the woods and surprised him before he reached #29. I told him he would get a ticket if a ranger sees him and he wouldn't like the amount. I showed him a shortcut out of the woods and he left.

Yeah I was watching that earlier. Sounds like it could be a few days before we are back out on the trails

Uwharrie was in great shape Friday and Saturday. There was a few wet spots where they usually are but the 98% that was dry was great. It's a shame no one thinks about going there. And as I sit here typing this it does not seem to have rain over there this morning.

A few months ago I chased a storm going out that way to ride and when I got to the parking lot the paved roads were still wet but the trail was in great shape. It tends to dry out very fast and is rideable. I'm glad I'm not to far from it to sneak in a ride. It dries faster than DuPont and has great traction. Thanks for the work you guys put in! I will make the next one and will bring tools if needed.

Are the trails even there anymore?! I don't know if I should build an ark or start another sport.

Amazing

There was some ASS Hat riding Sherman yesterday also. I could still see his tracks today when I was out working on it today.

I do not understand why people insist on tearing up and ruining the hard work people put in on these trails. Great places like sherman and LNSP don't happen by accident.

I wanted to go up today and do more work, but I didn't want to drive that far and get rained out.

I slogged around for 4 hours in the rain today. Sure was easy to find the trouble spots. Funny part was I found it very satisfying to clear a drain and watch 10/20 gallons of water leave the trail.

I repaired the dip about 100 yards past #26 between the old home place and the spring where they got their water from. I hauled in 10 large rocks to fill in the dip. I went to Wildlife and cleared the trail from # 47 to just past #48. I saw one spot at #47 where the water was standing which I'll clean out later.
