Trees down @ LNSP (Hawk Loop)

There are two pretty good size trees (12-18") down on the Hawk Loop.  They are about 1/8 of a mile from where the Hawk and Hick's Creek loops connect.  It is a pretty fast downhill section, so be careful.  I will be happy to meet up to help clear the mess if anyone has permission and a professional grade chainsaw.

Did you report the downed trees to the office? I'm no longer living in NC. and the rangers will have to clear the trees until someone else gets certified  to do that kind of work. Miss all you folks!

Thanks for the heads up!  I notified the rangers around lunch time today and Ranger Jarid is going to clear the tree tomorrow.  Shot me a PM and I can get you in the loop with other folks that are doing trail work at LKN.  We will hopefully have a chainsaw certification class being taught by the rangers late this Spring or early summer so we can get more folks certified to cut in the state park.
