Hi everyone. Can someone give me info on the trail behind the Morrison YMCA? Is it currently open? Where is the trail entrance, etc.? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

Here you have more info about trail work. We are finishing the first loop and then adding fun features. Now is the time to get involved and have a say in it! Thanks for your interest.

I ran into Luis and a few folks out at Ballantyne last week.  Trail is coming along nicely.  I thought I would add that the Solid Yellow line is the allowed/approved boundary for current trail work/land usage.  The solid red line is planned and/or completed trail work.  The dotted yellow line is existing and/or older trails that have been around quite a while.

The loop around the 4 baseball fields is complete.  It is 1.1 miles per Strava.   At the end of the loop, the right side  of red comes into play and is mixed in with some old trails and that is "somewhat" complete and definitely ride-able but you are "out of bounds" per se.  I need to understand that better.  Based on what is marked, I believe Luis and team want you to stay closer to the road at the end of the loop around the fields, and then make the  connection where are 3 sections of the red trail come together.  But for now, there is some additional trail that you can use that is pretty cool.

If you go for a ride.  Luis wants us to ride clockwise around the 4 fields loop.  To ride the loop around the 4 fields, enter the trail on the left side of the road across from the work shed that is referenced. The shed is hard to miss across from the Bojangles pavilion.  After you ride the loop you will end up back near the shed but below it where you can access a couple of more small trails.  If you ride those 2 loops, its an additional mile, but like I said above that is being changed I believe.

I have not found any trail access to the front/bottom left red trail area but I believe there is one old trail through there.

Also, on the way down the back entrance road into the YMCA and Bojangles pavilion, there is a gravel lot on your left.  in the future that is the planned lot to park and you will enter the "to be built" lower left red area of the trail across the street from the lot.

That's about all I know at this point.
