You heard right!  The full picture for this project is still coming together, but from the planning work done so far this will be a very significant new riding area for our region.  We've got an entire hillside set aside for gravity fed flow trails with a mellow climb back to the top.  There will also be single track for all levels of riders.

We've got some hoops to jump through to finish up the master planning for this project, but once those hoops are cleared and the master plan is finalized we will be putting out plenty of information.  We will definitely needs all hands on deck to kick off trail development!  We are hoping to have all of the planning done with sign off from all agencies involved in the next 4 weeks.

Btw for those that don't know, this project is west of the airport off of Dixie River Rd.

If all goes to plan, we are able to get started on time, and we get some great volunteer turnout  Wink then the goal is to have phase 1 open by mid summer.  There are a lot of variables in between now and then, especially since no ground has been broken, but we're working really hard with our land manager partners to get this ball rolling.

We have broken ground on a 2 mile xc loop and we're also working on jump trail.  Our problem right now is that we don't have a parking lot so it's a little tricky to hold a big group workday with the limited parking.

We're currently trying to get the access road cleared out enough to be able to park 20 or so cars without blocking the access rd.  Then we can advertise a larger group workday.

Tom A and Brian Malec are taking the lead on the xc loop and I know they will need helping hands very soon.  Their screen names are Doc00t and fattirz

This "access road" is this using the power line ROW? (Gravel road with the metal bar/gate)

The words dual & slalom come to mind.  Will be glad to help with any trail building.

Working on it.
Still no parking lot yet but the forces that be are trying to make it happen.  No easy feet when NC DOT has to be involved.

May be trying to organize larger workdays soon despite the parking limitations.  May require us meeting up the road at the School and carpooling over.

If you are interested in digging PM me or Email me your contact info and the best times you are available to work/Dig/Tamp/pack/Rake/Cut.
