Think it's gonna be called Beech Springs. I hear it's gonna be awesome and super technical. Hope it never closes. Cheesy

What came out of the meeting?  Were they just getting a feel for interest in a trail or actually planning to do something?

Land has already been selected and preliminary talks have already happened with city, county, parks & rec.

The idea behind the meeting was to build up interest and hopeful push council to get this across the goal line or at least to move with some accelerated pace.

Beach Spring? So the old Poplar tent trail is going to be resurrected? Nice to hear if this the case.

Poplar Tent was on private property that was sold. It is Kaput, Dead, Tote, at some point it will be part of a quarry.

This Beech Springs will be on public land near the 601/29 split in Concord. It will be completely new trail and will be an intermediate level trail.

With all of those parcels combined you're looking at 35 acres, so using the THTB formula of 1 mile per 10 acres it won't be a huge trail. But seeing has to how I can ride my bike there from work in less than 30 secs, I can see some lunch laps happening.

I was doing some mapping as well because at the meeting they mentioned 40 acres, 43 acres, and some time later it was stated as 49 acres. I'm only seeing around 33-36, but I'm not a surveyor

We were told that it has already been walked/surveyed and they are estimating 5-6 miles of trail. ???? Shocked????

I work about 1-2 miles down 601, so it would be awesome for me as well

I walked the property last week. I'm guessing 4 miles.  Lots of potential , should be a really fun trail due to the elevation of the land.

Elevation??  Sounds interesting... Given the short length of the trail, it would be interesting if this location could at least have some maybe bike parkish options (off or crossing main trail) to incorporate non looped runs with trail features.  Is this within the realm of possibilities?  Thinking kind of BYT'ish jump lines/flow lines etc.  Doesn't have to be anything big... just fun!
