Rode here yesterday and saw what looked like new trail being created off of Prarie loop that was roped off.  Anybody know what's goin on?

Which one are you talking about? Maybe assuming the one at the top of the service road.(if you are coming from the creek up the long gravel road, at the top of the road instead of going right to continue Prarie...go straight accross) Is this the one you are refering to?  If so I rode it 2 weeks ago and was not finished yet (the exit).  There are more off the prarie loop as well, very early stages.

I was out there today.

Yep, that's new trail.
The guys were down in the woods building bridges.

They also got rid of the steep rooted climb near the toilet bowl. Replaced with a new 1/8 mile section with a upgrade to a rock garden, finishing out at the toilet bowl. Had to do a double take on that one. I was locked out and in a low gear, but there was no more climb.. The leaves made it hard to see exactly where it was. Now they've got mounds of dirt blocking it.

I counted 2 or 3 new trails that are currently roped off that are being created. And the Prairie loop 2.5 mile extension is finished and is open. It's prime riding.

I was out there on Tuesday. If heading CW on prairie loop, there is a roped off area in the woods just past stump lake -  on the left before the cut back to the right.. then just past this roped off area (say 100yd) along the same section of trail, you'll hit a small climb that leads to another clearing where there is another roped off section (on right) before the trail cuts left and goes across to the land with the haybales on the right...(this is the last clearing before the old milled up state road) Not sure of any other roped areas
other than these 2.

hope this make sense, I have a pretty vivid memory of it (or so I think) but probably struggled to put into words. Undecided

What is the best way to ride as much as possible without backtracking now?

I rode three new sections but they were all pretty much parallel to Prarie. If you are heading CW on Praire, after you pass the bowl area which is on your right, you begin to exit the woods and head up the hill on the wide, dirt service road like trail. Just before you leave the wooded bowl area, there is a new trail entrance on your right. If you enter there, you will in effect be riding parallel to the dirt service type road.  If you look right while on this trail, there is a new bridge going in and no trail coming or going from it.  I am assuming this will be used to connect things up.  This trail is sweet, it runs through the woods and exits out on the gravel service road that you typically would never ride on doing praire. This gravel service road is on the opposite side of stumpy pond than the praire trail.  When you come out there, you go right and there is another entrance into the woods that goes up and reconnects with the praire loop at the service road/praire loop junction by the big field. It’s cool. But it’s kinda weird. Not sure how that will fit in.

If I haven’t lost you yet, if you turn right at that junction, continuing to head CW on praire, in about 50 feet you re-enter the tree line and on your left there is another new trail. If you take that trail, it goes about 1/4 mile and dumps you out into the big field that is beside the big barn. To put this another way. When you come out of the trail, you are looking across a big field and dead ahead, like 200 yards across the field is the security shack at the Springfield Parkway entrance beside the strawberry fields. No clue how these 3 sections of new trail will fit in to an overall plan but I am sure it will somehow.

Finally, these three sections can’t be the 2.5 mile praire extension that has been referenced. I read through the posts and I am going to try and find that entrance.
