Q1:  Has anyone bolted the iSpecI M980 adapter to the M9000 shifter and will it work?
Looks like that common bolt is very simmilar and should work?  Anyone / thoughts?

Q2: Anyone have a M9000 to test they have laying around from maybe going from Shimano to SRAM?  And possibly said matching derailleur?

Q3: @Duckster did you finish this and A: did you end up upgrading the derailleur as noted and B: how well did it work with SRAM cassette & chain?

Q4: @BudLeach, or anyone else that has used / tested the M9000 shifter w/the XO derailleur to test / confirm the pull ratio is off enough to not work? (to minimize my cost of conversion and not having to throw a derailleur on top of it all)

No one on Q1, Q2, or Q4?  None of the shops have an opinion / experience?

@BudLeach, Ill keep you in mind when I pull them.

Yep, I ended up with an XTR shifter and an XT derailleur...and it is awesome! Shifts wayyyyy better than the SRAM NX stuff in my opinion. And it works just perfect with the SRAM Cassette and Chain. [/quote]

Well of course it does.   You are going from a bottom of the line Sram setup to a top of the line Shimano setup...  It would be like going from Shimano Deore to a Sram XX1 Eagle...

Front SRAM/Shimano shifters will run either front derailleur.  Rear Shimano shifter is not compatible with SRAM rear derailleur and vice/versa.  As far as adapting iSpec II to iSpec A or B....good luck.  Problem solvers may have something but I haven't found it yet.  Thanks, Shimano. Wink

BTW IMPO if I'm on a gnarly decent the only finger I'm using is the index finger for the brakes but I see what you are talking about on the Shimano.

Running XTR shifter & XT brakes derailleur (I Spec) for the past year and love it. Rational was that the derailleur is a whole lot cheaper to replace if / when it gets whacked and the XTR shifters take an already good group and just make it better.  Think you will be happy with your purchase decision!

so I decided to go with the XT Derailleur and the XTR bar mount shifter!

Just getting back to doing this because my RS brakes are fried already...  Ridiculous!  Couple more questions...

@The Duckster (or anyone else who has done)

1. What SRAM cassette did you have 10-42?
2. Are you 1x11, 2x11 or 3x11?
2. Did yo go with XT GS/Mid or SGS/Large cage?

I ask because specs on the cages are miss aligning and im not sure which to get.
Some read the GS/Mid cage has a max cog of 40 and others 42.  I have the 10-42 so need to see if someone actually has it working?

New brakes on on the way but until I can get the above question answered and scrape up the extra money, does anyone have a SRAM shifter clamp adapter lying around so I can mount it to the bar for a short bit?
