BYT new trail coordinator wanted.

BYT/THTB are looking for a new trail coordinator and is looking for someone or several people to take over upkeep and such along with talking to greenway, CMUD, neighbors and neighborhood associations when needed. I will get you names and numbers. If you are allergic to poison ivy, ticks, spiders, hate yellow jackets and the wonderful smell that crosses the creek sometimes. This job might not be for you or is it? You can cut it up into 1/3 easily and acces will be much easier once the greenway opens. Santana has stepped up to take on the tech loop or back 1/3 and don't forget the piece of new property that will be added just south of the Archdale bridge. Brand new steep property that has some good mileage potential or more jumps and stuff (formerly GYT the man got it). Some one out that way should start walking around on it to get some ideas. The MD side has been taken over by the neighbors on that side and has been added to. David has taken over PRP from Doug and has done a great job and added some fun things. I will still go out and help the trail coordinators around here but I will be able to not spend all day working instead of riding and go when I have time. I just don't have the time and it's a long drive out and back. Thanks to all of you over the years that have helped and to my brother Clay who said let's build our on trails that we can ride and not get run off of. Thanks to the THTB, parks and rec for support and not throwing me out a long time ago and CMUD for acces. I only hope that the character kinda stays the same and it will continue to pi$$ people off (lord knows I have) because it has no flow or does it? Hate it or like it that's where I learned most of what I know (riding and building). Please contact Mark if you have any interest. Now after 29+ years it's time to finally RAMFB!

On a side note I have worked/built on a lot of the trails that you ride on and some that are long gone. With many fine like minded people. If you have the time please support your trail coordinators and support the THTB any way you can. Weather it be sweat, time, cash, beer or just stopping to move sticks. Every little bit helps more than you know!

Scott, your vision, leadership and likely a dose of nuts have guided the development of an urban mountain biking gem.  I'm sure there are many BYT stories out there.  And it just wont be the same not to have you pop up out there to greet wet trail poachers with a chain saw.  Thank you for all you have done.  Now it's time for a new generation to step up.

Hardest working SOB out there.  Thanks for being a friend and mentor!  I'm still good to keep up with the southeast portions of the trail, poo tracks areas, old jumpline etc.

Thank you for your tireless and hard work over the decades, Scott!  My hope is that BYT stays "BYT" and not BYFT. Keep in' it footy, tight, twisty and gnarly since 198&!!!

These are big shoes to fill but I'll throw my hat in the ring.

I have some experience with trail work helping Scott & David over the past few years.  I'm also local to uptown so reasonably close to BYT.  I can't commit to the level of involvement Scott has put in but I'd like to step up.  I do have a limitation in that I don't have much in the way of tools or anywhere to store them.

Willing to dig, saw and organize to keep BYT the gem that it is!

Thanks Dan your hired! You do know this is a non paying gig? We have all the tools you could wont. Already have a place to store them on site. Get in touch with Mark and we will go from there. Thanks for helping out lots of lookers but no other takers! Wow I can't wait to be one of you now or do I really won't to be? Dan I will not throw you to the wolves! I will gladly show you all the quick ways to get around through the woods and will introduce you to Bill the plant manager and show you the greenway entrance for the middle and back 1/3. Dan the one thing I would like to finish this fall is the old jumpline and the pipe dream line that has been started but not finished. We will need the machines back out to finish those projects off. But only with your permission. If you know me I am a man of my word and will help you take BYT over with the least amount of stress and problems. Building trail is very very easy maintaining it is a whole other animal! Thanks for your interest pm me when you would like to meet up.

Scott, it's about time you give BYT up. Let some of the younger riders take over and keep BYT going like you have for so many years.

Now, come up and we'll ride!

I'm in no position to step up yet, as I still don't know what "work" will look like now that I'm ousted from usnwc, but when I have a better idea what kind of free time is on the table I'll do my best to get out there and do some work.  Doubt I'd want to jump right into another Trail Coordinator position anyway......but I do wanna build some fun stuff.

Scott called  me early this morning on his way to URE and told me you were not at WWC anymore. Maybe you'll have more time to ride! I retired and moved to Snowshoe thinking I would have lots of time to play, but so far that hasn't happened. I'm going to change that real soon! I'm tired of working all the time. I wish you success in what ever you decide to do in the future.

If you do will you make sure you get up with Santana Wilkinson and Josh Krynock, please?  They've been helping out there and will continue to do so.

It will also help everyone stay on the same page with maintenance, tools and materials.

I can meet with y'all as well to help with any tool and material needs.

I plan on getting out there on Monday or Tuesday to walk the Tech Loop. I need to see what trees might be down from the last month of rain and storms. Time frame will be around 10am to 1pm.

ciao

Genetlman I am not able to meet this week. Work takes most of my time now and I am leaving for snow shoe this Friday. I will set aside time next week and can go walk around to show you how to get around the property quickly. Let me know what day works for you guys and I will see what I can do. I work on Westinghouse and live in Harrisburg about 6 miles past Sherman and have to plan these kinds of things out. Thank you all for your interest. Feels nice to go RAMFB now just need to get faster and loose 30 lbs. Thanks Jack for cutting BYT back now someone needs to go blow it off any takers?
