What's this plant? (in lawn)

Hey peeps,

Yeah!  I am here again hoping that the community here can help.  Does anyone know what type the plants shown below could be?  I suspect these are Crape Myrtle shoots given what I have read this evening and knowing that I did disturb the tree's roots last Summer by tilling up and then reclaiming a large oval-shaped long-not-used flower bed for grass.

Thanks,
-Clay

You are correct...crepe myrtle. I've got quite a few crepe myrtles and have come to realize that they're are weeds with pretty blooms. I dug a large one up 2 years ago and I'm still trying to kill all the shoots coming up from the roots I wasn't able to get out. They may outlive me.
