Just don't buy the bottom end cheapo aluminum ones. Not even for a bottom end bike. They'll break at the weld in no time. Unless you're trimming grams to race, the composite ones in the $10-15 range should all be fine. I've never tried one of the side-opening types, but I might the next time I buy, as I'm told they're much easier to remove and replace the water bottle while riding.

From Chain Reaction:

Lezyne Flow Bottle Cage

Constructed of durable, fiber reinforced Composite Matrix material for a high-strength, low-weight bottle cage with the greatest value. X-Grip architecture and dual upper bottle catches ensure that bottles will stay in place.

$9.99

44 grams.

I've had one for about a year and never had an issue with it. Camelbak Podium bottle fits like a glove.

It's out of stock at CR, but I'm sure you can find it somewhere.

Brad, I have one of these now.  I'll give ya a review soon (if you care lol).  You can scope it out next time we ride.

I have the Lezyne Flow SL and it works great.  I use the Camelbak Podium bottle and it fits like a glove and easy to get in and out.
