Definitely appreciate the touch up work done at the top of gorge climb and a few other small spots, like the rock added before the big rock before the gorge, to keep things a little more manageable and flowing.

Always a challenge - I keep wondering if I ride it enough will it ever feel easy?  Er possible? Er......

It's awesome, thank you!

I ride it once or twice a week. You get your lines down and the used to the punchy climbs. Somedays are better than other's but it's not too bad

BEST place to ride in the CLT area.  Closest thing to dirt bike XC single track I've ridden around here.  It kicks my a** every time I ride it, but love the challenge.  I cannot fathom riding a SS there.  Squishy or rigid.  Those of you who do are more manly than I.  I need to try and get back out there.  Maybe this Sunday....

I haven't ridden it in a couple of years.  With the weather cooling off it may be time to revisit.  What is the total miles w/ all options today?

Singlespeeded on my new-to-me 1999 Fisher HooKooEKoo running a 30x15. Did green loop up top (to bypass Gorge and No Name partly due to time - mostly due to wimpiness)

Trail was great today! SS at Steve's is a cool experience - nearly made it al through Stairway (nearly!) - love this trail!

Total miles I see on Strava by people where wheel sensors are used and doing all with Heartbreak and Death Valley seems to run 13.7-13.8 miles.
Like it or not leaf removal will begin today.

I agree on all the small changes. They're minor, but make a huge improvement in maintaining flow. (Thanks, Steve!)

As for feeling easy [easier], the key word is momentum. RRT will beat you up if you ride it tentatively, but if you hit the small climbs with speed you hardly have to pedal on many of them. Exclude Gorge, No Name, and Stairway to Heaven from that comment. And the River View climb.

Ok - so I'm THAT GUY: the one who loves RRT but can't:
- clean the climb on Gorge past that stupid little tree with the rocks (still hoping)
- do No Name's climbs (carpet is a welcome hike-a-bike assist!) but I love the Extension!
- skips Death Valley (I have good testosterone levels - promise! Just don't like doctor bills!)
- get clean River View top... yet!

But so what? I enjoy this trail immensely. Appreciate the awesome ride, Watcher!

bdotson, You're not alone. lol

Cleaning Gorge past that little tree is TOUGH!  If conditions are perfect I can clean it first try.  Most times it takes 2-3 tries. lol

I also can't understand how anyone can clean that climb at River View w/ all the rocks.  I wanna watch someone do it some day so I can know the line.  I can't figure it out for the life of me!
