Anyone have any recent experience with Niner bikes?  Was wondering if the quality is still good with the recent bankruptcy and sale to Huffy Brand Bikes....
Was looking at the RIP 9....or something along those lines......long travel 29ner

Thanks for any input.

Can’t offer insight on Niner, but if you’re looking at long travel 29ers, take a hard look at the Specialized Enduro 29. I’m loving mine.

I'm riding the 2017 Jet RDO.  I am running it with 27.5+ tires at the moment but It goes both ways. It has the 140mm Pike on the front and 120 mm in the rear.  Slacker front end then the older jets (more trail then xc now).  They also got rid to those dam press fit BB and went back to threaded.  Dropper can be run internally.  Have had it in Pisgah, Raccoon Mountain and it handles the CHUNDER well.  The RIP will be even more forgiving.  I have also demoed the RIP and it climbs surprisingly well for a bike its size.  Grant it these were model created before the Bankruptcy/merger.

Talk w/ local resellers...  My conversations have pushed me away due to reliability issues...  lot of warranty repairs on the squishy bikes.

I was totally looking for a steel RLT but could not find one locally...  I did ride the alloy version which was an abruptly stiff ride.  I ended up w/ a couple of steel Jamis Renegades which were better equipped than the RLT steel Apex I wanted.

Just to clarify - I'm pretty sure they weren't "bought by Huffy." From what I read, they were bankrupt and were bought by the same conglomerate that owns Huffy, but the two brands/companies will remain distinct despite having the same parent company. Sounds like many of the guys from Niner will stay with the company as well.

I've never owned one, but I like the look and feel of the Jet 9 from having demoed it.

If you like it, I say go for it. No stigma associated with riding a Niner (not yet anyway).

The fate of Schwinn may offer clues into Niner's future.
