Last Minute Call to Open WWC Trails

Intense sunshine all day long.  At 415 the Whitewater Center trails are still closed.  Made a call to try and get a sense if "closed" was the final status for the day or it they planned to do an additional evaluation.  Call was to Guest Services who essentially had no idea, did not offer to check, and advised me to call back later.

At 540, the trails opened.   Angry  I can't imagine there was a radical change in trail conditions over the course of an hour and a few minutes.

Historically on "Show Me the Money Jam Thursdays"  the call to open the trails is made between 3 & 5 so people can plan.

Kind of a frustrating miss today.

I checked at 5:25 before leaving my house to meet my wife and friends there and when I arrived I see that the trails were opened. So rather than getting a quick ride in while the others did yoga and belay tests, I just sat around and took in the sights (people watching haha). That said, I did NOT expect the trails to open yesterday.

Dude... you know the pattern.  Barring active rain showers the trails will be open on Thurs, Fri & Sat irrespective of the previous 24hrs.

It's ALL ABOUT THE BEER and they ain't willing to lose the beer revenue to a little trail dampness.
