How long do you wait to ride after a rain?

How long should you wait to ride after a rainstorm?  I expect it depends somewhat on the trail location.  I live in Indian Trail and plan to ride F Beatty a lot since it's closest to my house, but I would appreciate intel on any other trails for rain.  It's pouring tonight.

Are there specific trails that drain better than others?

General rule is 24 hors after the rain but that is just a guide in the summer time.  Beatty does pretty well to dry out and we haven't had any real rain in 10 days so.  I'd bet it would be fine after work tomorrow but check the home page here to see if its posted closed or not.  Winter time the 24 hours+ guide becomes more standard as the shorter days and lower temps leave things moist longer.
Welcome to NC.  September, October and November here are a fine time to be in the woods.

Sherman Branch is just a short drive down 485 from you and tends to be posted "open" more often than Beatty after spotty rains.  I'd recommend you give it a try soon if you haven't yet.    It is a longer trail and you get deeper into the woods than Beatty which can seem like your in someone's backyard for much of the ride.

I would also highly recommend a trip to Uwharrie since it is probably around an hour drive from you.  Handles rain like a champ and is a great trail when all the others locally are closed.  The loops there are pretty straight forward and there are some really fast/fun sections along with a couple good climbs.  Nothing very technical either, but more rocky than around here which is a nice change of pace.
