Well, we had a setback recently.  I haven't been out to Harrisburg in a few months, and rode them tonight.  I guess P&R had some soil samples drilled, and whoever did it bull dozed a bunch of the trail.  Where it didn't dig up trail, they knocked trees down over it, so for all intents and purposes, the trail is unrideable.  Can't even piece together out and backs.  Contacted TC and we are working on voicing concerns with P&R.  Weeks of work blown away in mere minutes.  The kids will be crushed when they see what happened.

So at this point, don't plan on riding the new stuff until we get some clear guidance from P&R.  I for one, am not going to sink any more work time out there unless we can get some assurances that this was an isolated incident and get some more concrete timelines and plans for the area.

Unfortunate.  That trail is a great spot to get new kids into the sport.  Hopefully P&R will work to help make it right.  Please let us know what you find out.

Who did you speak to at Harrisburg P&R? I can also call them since I have worked with them in the past. I would also like to help clear the trail.

TC is working with P&R directly to get the situation worked out.  Stay tuned.

Just so folks know, the damage done was NOT at the short track area and the original trail is intact. So continue riding the short track as there are no issues.

The damage was done on the less familiar west side trails. I'm working with the P&R and the company responsible to remove the trees and hopefully get things back open on that side of the park in a few weeks. There is going to be a park expansion so there will be some damage and reroutes required in the future. The company working on the soil testing took equipment into an area that was to remain as a wooded buffer and they were told to stay out of that area.

In any case, I want to get things cleared and opened back up so the trails can remain in use. I'll update on the status later.
