I mean, it's not so much the webs, but those little critters like to stow away under my helmet visor.... Yikes!

If you have heard early morning screaming at Sherman in the last couple of weeks...that was me.

UndecidedI'm not proud of it...

The key here is to ride with someone bigger and taller than you and always let them lead. Wink

+1

This is my tactic. Make sure to talk up how "out of shape" you are in the parking lot before the ride. Then as you're setting off for the trail head say "you go ahead, I don't want to hold you up."  Make it seem like you're doing them the favor  Grin

Was doing a fast downhill in Uwharrie and used my face to clear a huge web.  I saw it coming but was going too fast to avoid.  They heard my screaming in Charlotte.

During times of heavy webs I keep all these damn bumps on the back of my neck.   I've gotten now to where I stop and with a small towel I wipe myself repeatedly after webbing yet another with a big 8x creature present.

I've said this before..

Just be glad they're orb weavers (virtually harmless).
And black widows don't spin webs between trees.
That would be the end of my mountain biking career right there.  Sad
