In preparation for the upcoming Middle School & High School Mountain Biking season of the North Carolina Interscholastic Cycling League (NCICL), the NCICL team of the area south of Charlotte is hosting a ride for student athletes in 6th through 12th grade on this upcoming Saturday.

All interested student athletes, male & female riders, are very welcome to join us on Saturday at the USNWC.  You will have a chance to learn about the team, the NCICL & youth mountain biking in general.  6th through 12th graders are welcome, even if you are not interested in joining or not able to join the team.

The Sur de Charlotte team is organizing this ride corresponding with the Outdoor Market weekend at the whitewater center.

Here’s the plan:
•      Oct 21st at 2:30pm.
•      The Sur de Charlotte group ride will meet at the main parking lot bathrooms area starting at 2:30 for a 2:45pm roll-out.
•      We should be back at the starting area by 4:30pm at the latest.
•      This will be a very social ride with invites to prospective & possibly new riders. Thus, we will start by riding together on the lake loop & then break off into groups to ride main, East Main or other trails at the whitewater center.

This ride coincides with the “Outdoor Market” event at the USNWC, which includes tons of vendor demos, clinics & group events all weekend long. Sunday’s Outdoor Market goes from 10am to 4:30pm, so if you are interested in soaking up some of the excitement ahead of the ride, plan to come early.
