Fisher and Rocky River Trail Condition Report Out?

Print Post
Can anyone that rode Fisher and/or Rocky River today (Sun, Jan 06) reply back with a report out on the trail conditions? Looking to try to work in a ride in between now and the next wet weather event.

Thank you ...

Patches there doesn't appear to be a great deal of useful feedback coming up here so far. I shouldn't say but appears Mike 5 rode both and found them pretty bad Wink. As far as RRT goes I was busy for most of the day and didn't drive down thru the parking area and ask. In the time I was out no one told me I had made a mistake and should of stayed closed. Maybe someone will give you a better report. I'm sure the bad spots are worse and will stay that way till a drought returns to the area Grin. The 2 areas that have bypasses for them are by-passable for a reason I guess in a paraphrase trails were built for bikers not bikers built for trails. As everyone knows this has been an exceptionally wet cycle this year. I hope that for the folks that came and rode RRT yesterday they take that into their evaluation of what the trail is.

I rode Rocky River yesterday, and most of it was great.  I took the wet bypasses.  the short climb out of the parking lot was muddy, and perhaps 3 or 4 other isolated muddy spots where you rode through mud for 20 feet.

I rode late on Sunday. I walked the bike up the hill from the parking lot knowing it would be the muddiest part of the ride.
The rest of the trail was in good shape. The section before No Name was a little squishy. With today's weather you should be in good shape.

After walking Allison Farms Sunday morning with very few bad spots I decided to open the trail.  Probably a little muddy but nothing that will have any lasting effects on the trail.  Better ride it before this weekend!

Ok, to clarify, I only rode Fisher and Allison, there were plenty of slick spots and some muddy areas, but the trail seemed to hold up well. I went down a couple of times due to user error, but damn, it was fun to get out and ride. Mark, put me down for the next work day, I feel guilty.

Question about Fisher farm park, is it ok to ride it around 6PM or later.  I am at work until 5 and by the time i get there it will be dark, and not sure if riding in the dark is ok at Fisher.  WWC and north meck are listed as close today and that leaves me only Fisher available on my way home.  Any thoughts?  Thanks for the help in advance.

Frank:
Fisher is not generally open for night riding without prior permission. It closes at dusk. There is a Police Offocer living in one of the houses at the TH.
For night riding try North Meck. PArk in the church lot to avoid being locked in. There is easy access from the church to the park. However if the fields are in use you can park in the park.
Hope this helps.

Fisher is in relatively good shape - a few wet spots on the main loop, and a few VERY wet spots over on Allison.  Most of it is great, though.  Thanks for the leaf blowing - it is appreciated!

Got a full loop in yesterday afternoon, and the parking lot was slammed when I left around 4:30pm.  Lots of cyclists looking to get some riding in after the long rains...

It was in great shape this evening!  I didn't get over to Allison as day light was becoming a commodity.

Rocky River was fantastic last night.  Muddy spots at the bottom before no-name and a couple squishy spots on the second wet bypass.

I didn't do river view because I didn't want to fall into the river alone at night.

Most of the trail was straight up hero dirt.  My bike handling skills have totally gone to crap with all the wet weather.  That and they weren't that good to begin with.

Greatly appreciate all of the great trail condition reports. Going to get a ride in today at Fisher and hopefully another one at RRT tomorrow late morning before the next round of wet weather.

I wanted to do RRT today.. but I'm so out of shape from all this weather I'd drop dead before the "this ain't Sherman" sign  Shocked. Instead.. I'll be taking it easy at Sherman today...
