Camping at Tsali

I’ve never been to Tsali and thinking about heading up.  It looks like there is a campground in the park. Does anyone know if the campground is right at the trailhead or do you still need to drive to the parking lot?

I’d be open to other suggestions as well.

Thanks

The entrance to the campground splits the trail access. You can easily pedal from the CG to the trails. Only a few yards.

Tsali is fantastic and definitely worth the trip.  I hope you have a great time.  Just in case you haven't seen it, the USDA Forest Service has a trail schedule for mountain bikers and equestrians based on the month, day of the week, and loops.

I just came back this afternoon. It was great, nice and cool at night. Great for tent camping.

Keep a little gas in the tank and ride Fire Mountain Trail in Cherokee on your way home.

Tsali is the best. Yes, campground is ten feet from the trailheads. Nice, big shaded sites. Recommend if coming from Charlotte to stop at Jimmy's Produce on 19/74 about five miles or so before you get to the turn to get to Tsali. They have big bundles of firewood for $3 a bundle plus plenty of local produce. Great trip. Get out and explore.
