Poston or WWC Early AM rides.

Greetings, first post here. I moved out from Denver (CO) in November. I live over in Belmont and try to get out and ride as much as possible, but it's been trying lately. I'm not a hot weather person and also tend to be kind of a morning person. Last weekend I was at Poston rolling at 7:30 and done by 9. There was no one on the trail and a few folks just arriving when I left. I'm okay clearing out the cobwebs.

Anyone else down to meet on some of the west side trails? I'd be pumped to start a little earlier at WWC and try to cover a bit more ground. I generally only ride for an hour and a half or so, but back in CO the trails were just laid out differently and we'd do 3+ hour rides, and I can probably stuff some gels in my jersey for that.

I could probably do a 6-6:30am start and be back home in time to check in for work on a week day. I've really enjoyed Poston (there's one or two jumps I REALLY want to hit but would love to see someone do) and the trails I've ridden at WWC have been fun, but that's about it in the area so far. I'd love to meet some folks and do some rides. I'm not fast but I ride at a pretty deliberate pace generally and don't dilly dally too much.

I ride a surly instigator and have a maroon jeep if anyone sees me at a TH and just wants to say hey!

Cheers.

I'd be in for some WWC in the morning.  I'll hit you up at some point.

Sounds good! I'll just check in.

Looking at the weather, it's probably out of the question until Sunday. Even then, I've found the WWC to be a bog in places most of the times I've been there.

If you live in Belmont make sure you try out Rocky Branch Park (W. Woodrow in Belmont) and Mountain Island Park Trail (in Mt. Holly).  If you liked Poston, you should like RBP.

I've gone to the lot, but I haven't ridden the trails. I was told by a dude in the bike shop the trails can be confusing and to go with someone who knows the route. I ALMOST stopped in on my way home from poston last weekend, but I was really riding a high from hitting some of the drops out there and didn't want to be humbled! Maybe it'll be dry by memorial day. This rain won't quit!

RBP is well signed (Maps at each intersection) and well marked (just follow the arrows). The first time out I would take it slow because there are a lot of cool features (almost every one you can either bypass or roll it). Once you have ridden it once and know what's coming up it is a lot of fun.

Can't this weekend, but assuming the weather clears, be glad to take you for a tour one evening next week.

MIPT is up and coming. It doesnt have the mileage yet but it dries out super quick and will open much quicker then any of the other trails. It is also a fun trail with some cool features and is great for a few laps. Same offer stands.

BTW each trail has its own FB page check them out.

Okay, I'm not sure it'll ever NOT be raining at this point! I'll keep checking the weather though and checking in here. Generally, I can get out after work hours and I can usually split early if that works, or I could get out early AM and just start a little later.

Kinda late, but I can get out and ride if anyone is interested. Rocky Branch lap maybe?

edit: Okay, I'm just gonna head up and explore! I drive a maroon jeep, I ride a golden surly hard tail. My name's nate. I'll probably be there around 5:35.

Nate
Would have loved to show you around RBP but just saw this.  I hope you were able to explore the trail.  I have a meeting tonight but my offer still stands.  If you want you can PM me and give me your number.  I might try and get a ride in tonight after my meeting.  I would be riding around 6:30.
