Outlet store for Stanley Black and Decker

Hey,

Does anyone know if there is an outlet store at the Stanley Black and Decker facility near Carowinds?  The company has long had a distribution facility in this location and apparently announced in 2018 that they'd be building a big Dewalt (primarily) manufacturing facility adjacent to this.

Thanks,
-Clay

I dont believe there is any outlet store. There are two very large buildings - the older one is actually in both NC and SC, border goes through the middle, the newer one is next to it. One building is mainly inventory/warehousing, and the other is assembly of the Dewalt power tools. I've been to both and inventory control is very tight with no mention of an outlet (we work with them and routinely need parts)...

Thanks for chiming in.  In at least the early days of Concord Mills Mall, there was a Black and Decker Outlet there.  I am not a mall person by any means and couldn't tell you when it closed.  Given the brand has several siblings these days, such a store might represent more than Black and Decker now if it was still open.

Are you thinking of direct tools?  If so I think they are on independence now. (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

No, and it appears that Charlotte is no longer location for that entity.  I do believe there had been a road sign along Independence at one point, possibly between the auditorium and the old Albermarle Road intersection configuraton indicating that the business at the location was associated with at least Dewalt.  It was on the opposite side of the road from the auditorium and may have been a service center.  I never stopped at the place.

I am certain that there was a store at Concord Mills Mall that predominantly sold Black and Decker brand products even if the store name wasn't an "company outlet" on technical grounds.
