This trail system consists of three distinctly different one-mile loops, making Ballantyne eminently lappable. The “Flow Loop” is a smooth and fast, with little to no technical terrain, making it a perfect trail for beginning riders (or those who don’t like roots and rocks). The “Tech Loop” has a large rock garden, switchbacks, and a fast downhill bermed section. However, the main attraction of this loop is an optional detour to the first wall ride in the Charlotte metropolitan area. The “Field Loop” is an old-school hand cut trail full of roots and rocks. It also features a double-roller wooden bridge and several bermed turns.
