Depends on what kind of response we get from the first meeting.

So basically the plan is to meet at LNSP and ride a lap before each meeting...am I reading that right?  Wink

I'm already liking the idea of having a "local" chapter very much.

Some of the topics that we'll cover....

A Power Point Presentation to bring everyone up to speed on where we are as a club.

Why a chapter?

Why not Multiple Chapters?

Why a Junior Chapter?

Future Chapter Leadership.

Incorporation of CCC into THTB fold.

Ongoing projects in this area.

Jetton - physically challenged trail.

LNSP support for signage (temporary or otherwise).

Possible future Cook's Farm trails.

Mooresville is untapped for mtn. bikes.

PASA and Huntersville location for an advanced level trail.

Cross Roads event.

How do we get more involvement in this area?

Draw from Statesville, Mooresville, Davidson, Cornelius, Huntersville, I-77 corridor.

Future meeting locations.

Anything else? (always a loaded question)...

Many of us would be interested in a report of the meeting if Cyclepath or Elvis (or others) get a chance.

Thanks.

Had a pretty good turnout.  About 26 in all.  Pretty much packed the room we were in.  Elvis did a sweet Power Point and video presentation.  A lot of familier faces and some new faces.  I wanted to get an idea on the interest of a LKNM/NORTH Chapter.  There's plenty of interest so that answered that question.

The idea isn't to have a separate club but to have better cohesion with club members that either don't have the time or don't want to drive all the way into Charlotte for a meeting every month.  Gas prices...$$$$.  We could ride but that would take awhile!  Wink

Anyway...I'm sending out a questionaire to the LKNM e-mail list on frequency of meetings and other Q's and ideas as well.  I'll probably post here on the forum as well.

BTW I guess I'm the "Un-Official" leader of the this chapter by silent popular vote. Roll Eyes

I'll keep you updated....

Do what you like. Stop hating people for their riding habits and get back to hating them for their skin color, religion, politics, and sexual orientation.

Great meeting last night...Fried flounder dinner not bad either... Cool

Mark, how about for the proposed upcoming trails, we throw in our idea of the I-77 trail on that sweet strip of median between Exit 18 (Harris Blvd) and Exit 25 (or one of the Huntersville exists where the land abruptly ends).....enough room for an out and back, and nice elevated land that even I wouldn't be temped to flag it with fall line.... Grin

It was great to see such a nice turn out for the meeting.  For some reason, I had expected a dozen or so folks and we doubled that.  I guess that goes to show that there is an interest/need for a LKN chapter.  Since there won't be much new construction at the State Park for awhile, we could use our existing LANO email group so we wouldn't have to rebuild the list from scratch??  If there is interest, we could also check into using the park community building for meetings?  I think the capacity there is about 75 and they do have the full kitchen facilities if we need to use them.  Might be an easy way to sneak in a lap before the meeting (like I did this time).

Every time I drive up that way I think it would make a great place for a trail.
