This trail is awesome. love the new black diamond addition on the second black diamond trail. i rode it 3 times. I'll see if I could make it out tomorrow. Also, I notice there was a tree that fell over on the trail on the first black diamond trail. If i had a chainsaw, i'll cut it up for sue but if anyone has one, lend it to me and i'll cut it.  Smiley

Can you tell me where specifically? I can bring a saw tomorrow and cut it up. Thanks.

Just a reminder that wheels roll at 6:30pm tonight. Alot of folks cant make the ride until 7:00-7:15 so were going to wrap up the first lap to meet them for lap two. Hope to see yall there! Smiley

The tree is about 30 feet or so after the Turtle Pond entrance to the black (zig-zag bridge trail). Easy-peasy to get to. Need your chain saw.

Technically that section isnt part of the main trail. Some of it, to my understanding, isnt even on park property. We dont maintain it either as part of our trail work. Theres another tree down behind the soccer fields i have to get to and if i have time ill knock that one out too.

I moved the tree over near the soccer fields this morning.  I just pushed it to the left side of the trail, so it could be cutup or moved further with a couple pair of hands.

Yeah, that one started out pretty fast on the 1st lap and strung out the group pretty bad.  We'll try to break into groups next time to keep folks together better.

Its all good... I did not want to say anything but a few dudes took a few shortcuts after about 2.5  miles in... they let me pass them and I continued to do all blue... when I got back to the parking lot they were there.  hmmm   just sayin...  Cool

Good ride tonight. Really good turnout. The group did get strung out pretty bad on lap 1. Next time we'll try to break into groups like Mike said. I was shooting for 45 minute laps. If that's too quick we'll figure something out. Everyone made it back for the second lap pretty close together though. Dont know about yall but I'm ready to go to town on some roots on the high blue trail aka "Randy's section". After all the root removal on the rest of the trail that section's roughness is really amplified.

I wont be there next week cause I'll be up in the mountains but keep it going and I'll see everyone week after next hopefully. Thanks guys!

No worries... I'd feel guilty holding people back. I totally get riding at a pace you are comfortable with. I'm improving my times and 20lbs lighter since I started so... we'll keep on pedaling... just this past December I could not complete 1 full lap at CB without a few dismounts to rest.  Now the only time my feet need to touch ground is that skinny $(*&^#( bridge.   Cool

Is this thing going tonight?

Status on the homepage shows Beatty closed... but is also shows that it was last updated three days ago.

It is only updated when the status changes; it is still closed.

This weeks ride is postponed to next week due to rain. Please come out anyway to help out on rehabing the trail to get it back in shape. Thanks.

Doesnt look like this is gonna happen this week either. Beatty is getting trashed on a daily basis and it just cant handle it. I'd like to ride so Im moving this ride to a trail that is open. WWC, Sherman, Renni, or BYT are all fairly close to me and I can make a 6:00-6:30 start time. Post up preferences and we can hit it. If nothings open then I'll probably do a chill road ride down here in good ole' Union County. Pm me if interested.
