Flat tire

I tried to unscrew the cap and the valve separated from the stem.  All the air rushed out quickly for an insta-flat.  This was a first.  Can anyone explain what went wrong?

Thanks!

Welcome to tubeless tires and the mess they make!!!  The very reason I don't run them.

It appears as if you unscrewed the entire valve core.  I'm guessing the core wasn't screwed in all that tight which is why it backed out.  Replace the lost fluid, screw it back in, and re-inflate the tire.

That sudden loud blast of air probably caught you off guard. Like every time I am looping the air hose back up on the compressor and accidentally bump the pressure relief valve. It'll certainly get your adrenaline going.  Shocked

use a tool like this to tighten or loosen a removable valve core.
