Beatty Pump Track Opening

The Beatty pump track was a big hit! We had about 40 volunteers help us with finishing work, and somewhere between 75-100 riders help us break it in. REI came out and partied with us, and quite a few hot dogs were eaten. A huge thanks to Elevated Trail Design, LLC for building a fantastic pump track.

If you have pics or videos, be sure to share them below.

Once again, thanks to everyone that contributed to make the pump track possible: the volunteers, the individual donors, and our corporate donors REI, Trips For Kids Charlotte, and Russ Levinton - State Farm Agent.

I only got a few decent photos, I put them in a google album to prevent breaking this page:

The Pump Track was a BLAST!

Was glad to get back out to Beatty for the first time in over a year to help with the final work and be among the first to ride it!

Thanks to the THTB leadership and all the folks who worked so hard to make this track a reality!

And kudos to the everyone who works on the trails at Beatty! I haven't been able to ride out there in a long while. The trail was in great condition and all the features made it a great ride!

Awesome job out there making this happen.  I can't wait for the next two installments to the project.

Do what you like. Stop hating people for their riding habits and get back to hating them for their skin color, religion, politics, and sexual orientation.

This thing is a ton of fun.  I went out Sunday with the plan to do a little pump track then hit the trail for a few laps.  2 hours later I loaded up when my arms and legs were done without the trail ride.

Where is this at Beatty?  I normally park in the lot adjacent to the softball fields and then hop on to the main trail near the swampy area and a fork to a black diamond option.  It looks like I need to make the ~21 drive down.  Isn't there a pump track at North Meck?  If so, is it anything like this?

Tennis court parking lot which is the first left after you enter the park gate.
Track is in the woods behind the bathrooms.

The pump track at N Meck is much smaller.

Thanks for the kudos on the video.  The pump track is now mapped to MTB Project and the video can be accessed directly on the trail page.

She needs some rain in a bad way.  Did a loop this am and there's lots of loose dry clay in the corners and some of the edges on the tops are getting broken off from people riding too close to the edge.

Very cool, Vinnie! Thanks for putting that together and getting all that info in there.

You're going to get your wish. Looks like lots of rain starting tomorrow night. After it gets a good soaking, I plan to go out there and fix the edges that have been blown out.
