BYT and PRP post greenway

I haven't been to BYT since January '18, and it's been even longer since PRP.   Hoping to hit it up tomorrow or Sunday.

With the greenway now cutting through the middle, what's the best way to link up the two for a longer (20+ mile) ride?  Perhaps Marion Diehl, too.

And can I still access BYT from Farmbrook between the two houses like before, or is it only accessible from the greenway now?

Yes you can still access the trail from Farmbrook.  Can’t really link all the segments together without backtracking a bit, but I usually do prp then the main BYT then the back third and then Marion Diehl.  Gonna do it today, if you want to join.

Sorry I didn't take you up on the invite yesterday, I wasn't sure what time I was heading over.

When I finally did get there I parked at MD and started at Farmbrook, did a little bit of the front 1/3 before hopping on the greenway towards PRP.  I got in around 4 miles at PRP, even doing some of the softball loop backwards by mistake, so I feel like I missed some of the trail over there (or it got destroyed in construction).

After taking the greenway back to the old trail I decided to see what was left of the part of the trail that was closed back in 2016 (I assumed it was all bulldozed) and was happy to see it's now called the back 1/3 and just has new entrances!  Super stoked as I haven't ridden that section in probably three years.  The tiny sliver that runs along Tyvola itself looked neglected (hidden entrance probably didn't help), but it didn't seem like it was worth it anymore especailly with the trees down across the concrete section.

After I finished the rest of BYT I rode across Tyvola and did what I could find of Marion Diehl.  Got in exactly 20 miles by the time I got back to my car.

You actually can link all the trails together from the new greenway I am pretty sure without much back tracking if any. You just have to be slightly creative. The hardest one would be both sides of BYT but if you know the loop you can go in from the greenway do both loops and exit back out from where you went in. You can get all the others individually from the greenway. Did I miss anything?

From what I saw two weeks ago you definitely can, as long as you know where the entrances are.  PRP is the only area where I don't know where the "real" entrance is; the ones for BYT are marked with signs.  I'm super stoked for the Cross Charlotte Trail to make its way to Pineville so I can ride pretty much the whole way to these trails without touching a regular road.

The PRP entrance is right beside bridge with the brown wood railing right beside archdale. You can see it from the road
