In summary, the trail organizations cited in the article do not have a view / position.

I'd suggest that Dave stated IMBA's position quite clearly:

We’re supportive of class 1 eMTB access as long as traditional MTB access isn’t threatened.

The second part of that is we don’t want to see class 1 eMTBs and mountain bikes become one and the same and there is a movement that wants to see that happen. We feel like that has the potential to be dangerous to traditional mountain bike access, and that’s not the best for growing eMTB access, if they’re combined.

Also, EMBA has a somewhat similar opinion (if not an official policy):

We haven’t created a public position statement.... But we’ve taken a very active advisory role: being part of the legislation process and recommending class 1 access only; only where it makes sense; and only if it does not affect the quality trail experience for other users on multi-use trails, and to plan from a baseline of “closed unless signed open."

Interesting article.  To me the most interesting part is folks in France cited that crash as a reason in cracking down on Ebike modifications (a person riding a modified ebike crashed into a pedestrian killing her).

People driving cars kill pedestrians all the time yet we don't crack down on driver speeds.  That kills me... Carry on!

However, that leaves a big question mark: whether France is taking the right measures to approach this delicate topic. A ban might have a strong impact in the short term, but it doesn’t solve the actual root of the problem. Despite the need for alternative urban means of transportation, bikes are at a disadvantage compared to cars.

Smiley

So the problem is one of speed inequity..

And older, less fit riders are at a disadvantage compared to younger, more fit riders.

Somehow I knew this was the case.

Bush you need to grow a set and stop hating on everything that is different than your opinion.  You are acting like a triggered child that is battling with gender identity.  It's well know I hate 29ers but at least I'm not a DB about it.  I even own a wagon wheeled steed now.  Perhaps you embrace you hate for ebikes and buy one.  Maybe you will finally be able to reach 20 mph.
