Any recommendations for chainstay protectors? Not looking to spend more than $20.

I have a Large Cannondale Trail 5 29er and Large REI Co-op DRT 1.1.

Split a tube, cut in strips, start wrapping at the rear, round and around, zip tie at front.  Last forever, not the prettiest, but definitely the most durable and long lasting.  Cheap to replace too.

The fury part of hook and loop (Velcro) tape or Scotch 2228 rubber mastic tape.

Both are fairly inexpensive and silence chain slap pretty well. Mine lasts around two years before I need to replace it but that will depend on your bike and  much the chain is sloping the chain stay.

Great advice. Just moved recently and got rid of my old inner tubes, but will certainly remember to keep some around. Anyone have some I can grab in the Concord area?
