PLEASE bring the colors back for the trail status page. It was so much easier to see, especially on mobile, which I’m sure is how most people check.

Besides that, the update is fantastic. The look and layout is spot-on.

For the pics that scroll across the homepage, might be cool to footnote the trail name.  Makes for a nice tie in.

It hadn't received a post in over a year. Along with munis and freeride. No need for a separate section.

No need for a separate section... as long as the forum is dead.

Until there is an easy way to post photos to the forums, link media, post social reactions, and do it all across PC/tablet/phone, the site will remain dead.  In fact, it may be too late to change or improve things since so much traffic has been driven away from the site already.

But I'm not telling people what they don't already know.  Doesn't sound like anything is going to change.

You're conflating forum activity and website traffic. Memberships, donations, and swag purchases are all sharply up, and our Beatty trail coordinator reports 20 volunteers showed up when he used the events function. Seems like the website is doing what it's supposed to. A busy forum does nothing for me. And I suspect if we switched to a modern forum software, nobody would bother to sign up, because social media.

I would sign up and still be an active forum user just as I am today if the new system was standalone similar to how YaBB is.  This type of system works and doesn't need the social media and Big Data tie-ins to function.  Plus, I am one of the few not to be found across any of the "social media" sites and essentially have never been.

I'm confused..
But what exactly has improved vs. the old website/forum?

Yes, it looks a bit different. And we've lost a few sub forums.

No I'm not.  The first two key metrics you glance at to evaluate a site are:
(1)  Traffic
(2)  Engagement

Engagement of course being how long people spend on the site, and how much of your site they utilize.  You can have a site with low traffic and high engagement, or one with high traffic and low engagement.  Of course, advertisers much prefer the former, because low engagement scores typically mean you're one step away from the big tech graveyard in the sky.

But I'm not telling you anything you don't know - with a forum whose traffic peaked 12 years ago.  Suffice it to say I am looking for an online Charlotte mtbiking community, and it ain't gonna happen here... as I have been told numerous times.  Why even bother with a forum - it seems inconsistent with your vision for the site and just requires maintenance for something that doesn't add any value?  I keep suggesting the things that need to be done to make your forum an asset instead of a liability... and all I seem to be doing is pissing people off(?)

Nobody is mad at you, I'm just saying we're not trying to be the thing you want this forum to be. Mtbr is the biggest mountain bike forum in existence, and they don't even have the features you seek. If you want a vibrant online Charlotte experience, here you go: (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Be prepared to answer questions about whether you should go tubeless or not five times per day.

It's good to have people willing to speak their mind in a coherent and polite manner.
But let's not get carried away.

Bonsai, 10 years ago those against the herd kind of comments would have gotten you 50 tongue lashes from the lurkers/regulars here..

Most of the problems have now moved onto greener pastures or were banned..

Be careful what you wish for.   Wink
This aint California. And it's not all bad.
Plenty of drama out there for the taking for those willing to look around a little.

Hey moderators, can we please add an e-bike forum.., for talley and company?  Smiley

Not sure I understand anything you said, and for that matter, I have no idea what my time in California has to do with whether you can use a web site on a phone or easily upload photos, but not surprised that someone would toss it out as some sort of personality flaw.

However I do accept that an interactive community is not what this site is about, and that's fine.

I guess I'm old school.  I would much rather use the forum than the social media platforms.  I miss the traffic that used to be here.

And yes, there should be a e-bike forum.
Yes, you should go tube-less.

Always good to maintain ones sense of humor.
Especially on the Internets.   Smiley

Beyond that, you wont find a perfect place on this planet.
I know. I've been it around it a couple of times looking.  Cool
