To whom it may concern on behalf of the tarheel trailblazers I would like to convey the idea to build a small yet functional pump track in the park road park area it would be a relatively low Maintenance high traffic feature that would help younger and developing rider’s build and refine their skills while giving older rider a place to hone already developed skills. This would be a community project that could be expanded as time passes to suit users needs and might also bring new people into the sport of mountain biking, along with being a gathering point for riders and an open place for non-riders to watch and enjoy the sport. This would be a great addition to the trail system not to mention that it is located not 5 minutes away for 2 other major trail systems back yard trails and Mary Anne deal. In short I think that building a pump track in the park road park area would be an excellent addition to the trail system that would bring many more people to the park and be enjoyed by all for years to come.

Yours truly,

Do what you like. Stop hating people for their riding habits and get back to hating them for their skin color, religion, politics, and sexual orientation.

Funding? Which volunteers will design and build and maintain? How many hours for each step?
Has Char-Meck P&R approved a plan and agreed to the site. Who will take the lead?

We have already been working on a plan for this project at PRP. I would be happy to put you in touch with David Krause for a collaboration of minds and money.

volunteers didn't design the track at Poston  Cool

Great idea for a pump track here!  Mecklenburg County Parks and Rec needs to get bought into the idea that the entire PRP/BYT and MD area should be officially designated, developed, and promoted as the City's premier mtb biking area.  It's all connected by the XCLT and there is enough land between the three riding areas (and the Sugar Creek property) to have riding for all skill levels.

What has the County been saying about a Pump Track at PRP?

BTW, for anyone wanting to encourage Mecklenburg County to invest in mountain biking as a form of Public Recreation let them know by taking their most recent master plan survey.

Work in natural surface mountain biking trails, bike parks, and pump tracks in your answers as much as you can.
