We need a like button.  Smiley

Do what you like. Stop hating people for their riding habits and get back to hating them for their skin color, religion, politics, and sexual orientation.

Ah, nice to see this board is still adverse to people posting their opinions and honest experiences.  It's an opinion.  If folks had good experiences recently then throw them out there.  I have a friend contemplating doing business with Bike Source.  If you read their public reviews, many are pretty crappy.

I think the issue is there is a trend behind your posts overs the past few years, and that trend is mostly negative towards mountain biking and the mountain biking community. Not liking trails status, not liking new trails not being open to your satisfaction, acting like there is a conspiracy to keep trails away from the public, not liking how long things take, not liking a shop, not like, not like, not like...I think some of this is sarcasm lost on forums, some being genuine frustration with issues, and some things maybe just keep to kept to yourself...but the trend is there.

That being said and speaking to your question; I personally am neutral to pro Bike Source. I had a bad experience 10 or so years ago when I started getting back into MTBing. I chalk it up to them being a little more "corporate" compared to other shops regarding their policies. But they do have a nice shop, well maintained, great selection, and overall are very well managed. I have a lot of personal friends working their and those who shop there as their primary store. The support the bike community with great sponsorships, trail build days, and showing up to events to provide neutral support.

I personally have a go to shop which is not Bike Source, but my past experience does not prevent me from shopping their as I know in a pinch they have a great selection of parts which most other shops don't carry in stock. And when I do visit they treat me well, are kind, and helpful and the employees are extremely knowledgeable about the bike industry.

So I am neutral as I have another primary shop I go to and pro Bike Source for the reasons listed above.

I'm glad that this is an environment where you feel free to fail.

I bought a basket for my wife's beach cruiser over the holidays. Dude was helpful, and I appreciated their covid setup.

To everyone else's point, you could do with a little life coaching from this instructional video:

They had a brake adapter in stock which the interwebs didn't have and it was not spendy, which made me happy Smiley  But I couldn't walk in the store and drool on the new bikes due to covid, which made me sad Sad

I had a few good experiences there when I needed something others didn't have.   That said,  not sure where you are located but try Cycle Path of First Flight... Both better options for my .02.

I’ll be Yin to Robert C’s Yang.  I’ve never had anything but GOOD experiences at Bike Source.  Then again we’re lucky to have a whole bunch of great LBSs peppered all over the Charlotte metro area.  But I’m a glass half full type of person, so Robert C., you might not relate?

To Debby Downer, perhaps it’s you negative attitude, that makes merchants cringe when you walk in the door?  Just saying.

Yup, Robert C you are the best thing that has happened to bicycling in a while. Thanks!

Come out to a trail work day somewhere and show us your skills. Grin

What is this, cancel culture?

Obviously, running more people off isn't what this club needs.

No counter culture here.  Just a bunch of people who love to ride and are interested in providing more and/or enhanced trail opportunities.

The only person that seems to be having the effect of running people off is the author of this thread who started it just to make a negative comment about a shop.  Personally I’m just sick of the constant abrasive, divisive and nonproductive posts and I’m certainly not the only one.  I’m all for free speech and an open debate, but WTF!

Just because something is bicycle related does not mean they are beyond reproach.  Lance Armstrong is a perfect example……

In my most recent experience with BikeSource that pre-dates this thread, I was offered service at double the normal industry standard. Lower leg service on Rockshock fork is $75-80.  Thankfully I knew better. But somebody that didn’t might have paid that.
So it is MY OPINION that if you are going to do business with BikeSource you better know how much things cost before you go in there

Original email will be provided upon request:

January 23rd 2021
Normal lower leg service with new seals, wipers, and bath oil is done in house and is turned around within 2 to 3 once we  receive the correct seal kit. Cost is about $150 parts and labor.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Thank You,
