Uwharrie mountain bike trails

Hello, I rode this wonderful trail on Monday and noticed three big trees that have fallen on the Keyauwee trail.  One is in a really bad place since its on a downhill and a little bit hidden.  These were all here a month ago when I rode as well.  Can I help clear these out?

Thanks,
Toby

You have to be certified by the NFS to cut in Uwharrie.  Chris Greene is certified, send him and email and let him know you are willing to do the dragging if he does the cutting.  chris.green@bolessupply.com

Is Chris the trail steward?  I will contact him.  The trail needs a lot of work.  The first half mile clockwise on KW is overgrown with blackberry and ragweed.

Chris does what he can out there.  He is the only person that does volunteer trail work on the entire system and I would guess takes a break during the summer months due to the heat,

If you are interested in contributing to trail work at URE you should hook up with Chris and get introduced to the National Forest land managers.  If you are a current Trailblazers member you are covered by our insurance to do trail work.  If you aren't a current member then the NFS land manager won't authorize you to do trial work.

Thanks for your interest, those trails could use some love.  Not many active THTB members live in that area.  I did a good bit of work there a couple years back but I'm involved in too many other projects to spread myself out that way.

Sorry, thats the address I had.  I'll have to try and dig around to find his contact.  I think Chris might be on these forums.  Search around for a thread with Uwharrie in the title and maybe you can find his screenname.  He will be the only person responding who is actually cutting trees in older threads.
