The Backyard Experience is just 1 month away (on May 17th) and the BYT team has been hard at work preparing the trail, rebuilding features, planning routes, collecting prizes for winners and raffles, and getting everything dialed to deliver an amazing experience for you all.

If you haven't done so, register today. You won't want to miss this! (Link in bio to get signed up) Only 7 men's race sports remain. There is a participant cap and no sign up on the day of the event so you might as well sign up today. And the price for party pace goes up at the end of the month.

All of the proceeds go to the Tarheel Trailblazers to be specifically used for Backyard Trail improvements. We appreciate the support and look forward to hangin with y'all on May 17th!

The Backyard Experience is finally back for 2025!

The Backyard Experience is finally back for 2025! You'll want to make sure to register soon - there is a participant cap and no registration will be available on the day of the event. Check the link in bio to register and for additional event details.

All proceeds for this event go into improvements at Backyard Trails!

The day starts with a mass roll out from The Spoke Easy at 9:30 AM. There are two ways to throw down once we get to BYT:

1. Party Pace – Claim your spot in the woods. Whether you’re heckling, cheering, or just soaking it all in, this is where the energy comes from. No rush, no pressure - just the best excuse to hang out between the trees all day. Party Pacers should expect to ride between 15 and 20 miles for the day.

2. Race – Rip four stages through the best trails in Charlotte. Four chances to lay it down. Cross the line, grab a card, and stack your score. Only the top 13 from each loop gets a card. Highest total wins. No timing chips, no tape - just speed, grit, and the chance to walk away with a trophy and some solid prizes, and the title of King or Queen of BYT. Racers should expect to ride between 22 and 27 miles for the day.

When it’s all said and done, we head back together as a group for a grill out for participants, prizes for race podiums, a raffle, and whatever happens next!

Got this question in our Mailbox from a new member and we told them we'd ask the community to comment here with ideas!

"I'm reaching out because my family is relocating from out of state and my number one priority is finding a place where we can access real mountain bike trails out of our garage.

As local experts on the trails - are there trail networks that pass directly by neighborhoods? Or at least that you could ride to without having to drive? If you could live in any neighboord to be clsoe to trails which would you pick? Particularly interested in Iredell County and that direction, but any other suggestions great too!"
